Meal Timings:

Please note breakfast is normally from 07.00am to 08.30am and dinner is normally from 1930 pm to 21.00 pm. The hotels are strict on timings and hence ensure that you are in the dining hall well in time. You can fill water in the hotel and take it with you on the day’s journey in Israel

Dress code:

As we are visiting churches & Synagogues please wear suitable attire. Wear flat and comfortable shoes for walking.

Dollars:

About 200 to 500 US dollars is the amount you will use if you are planning to buy many little mementos for friends and relatives. If you are not much of a shopper and only intend to buy small mementoes and chocolates, 300 dollars will suffice.

Do not forget to carry your passport which you must keep handy.

Travel Insurance:

We urge all members to take travel insurance.

Dip in the Dead Sea:

We encourage everyone to take a dip in the Dead Sea. Wear suitable clothing which will make you comfortable. Do carry a towel when you go to the Dead Sea. Make sure you don’t drink the water nor allow it to go to your eyes as it will burn you for some time but not to worry. You will come out of the Dead Sea, refreshed and rejuvenated.

Miscellaneous:

Many shops in Israel take dollars in payment and return shekels in change. You may obtain shekels in that manner. Please keep a number of one shekel coins which will come in handy for visiting restrooms.
If you are looking out to get things at best and lowest price, be prepared for some frustration. There are many tourist shops of all qualities all along the way and the prices of the same mementos may vary from place to place. However, it is impossible to get the cheapest and best of everything at one area. Be careful when buying from roadside vendors who may cheat. Also, avoid buying when the group is moving and consequently in a hurry. Keep with the group and do not be distracted. Time will be given occasionally for shopping.
Some shops such as Mazzawi in Nazareth are recognized by the Government of Israel. If you purchase in such recognized shops goods exceeding 100 dollars, you will be entitled to a VAT refund at the Ben Gurion Airport on your way back home, [Please Confirm] and this is really worth the deal. Stores like these provide a variety of mementoes as well as jewellery.
Non-Israeli citizens are entitled to receive a V.A.T. refund if they do not hold an Israeli passport. The goods must have been purchased in a store included in the V.A.T. refund program and the purchase amount in one tax invoice including V.A.T. must exceed ILS. 400.
The itinerary gives a flavour of what we will be seeing. However it could be subject to change as well.
